Michigan State is looking to steal a top 50 prospect from Texas A&M.

The Spartans have offered 2023 defensive end Anthony James of Wylie, Texas. James announced the scholarship offer on Saturday.

James is currently slated to play at Texas A&M — verbally committing to the Aggies in February. However, that may not be as concrete as expected with James telling Corey Robinson of 247Sports that he hopes to visit Michigan State next month.

James — who is originally from Flint, Mich. — is ranked as the No. 47 overall recruit and No. 5 strong side defensive end in the 2023 class by 247Sports. He currently holds scholarship offers from numerous big-time programs, including Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Virginia Tech.

With James committed to Texas A&M, it is certainly an uphill battle for the Spartans to pry him away from the Aggies. But this is a kid to surely keep an eye on and see if the Spartans can try to bring him back to the mitten state.
