Michigan State men’s basketball ranked No. 10 in ESPN’s way-too-early 2020 rankings

The Spartans are among six ranked Big Ten teams

ESPN thinks Michigan State will have a top ten men’s basketball team for the 2020-2021 season.

The worldwide leader released its latest way-too-early rankings for the men’s college hoops season and the Spartans check in at No. 10. MSU’s blurb focuses a lot on personnel questions revolving around the program, which is fair. NBA decisions loom large for Xavier Tillman and Aaron Henry (and potential five-star recruit Karim Mane) and there is now word that Josh Langford is looking to return to MSU for another season. If those personnel matters break the right way, the Spartans could be prime for another preseason top five ranking and a boatload of expectations.

MSU is one of six Big Ten teams in the top 25 and the third-highest ranked behind Iowa (No. 5) and Wisconsin (No. 7). Ohio State (No. 22), Indiana (No. 23), and Rutgers (!!!) (No. 25) round out the conference.
