As the great sage Michael Scott once said: “Oh how the turntables have turned.” After beating Michigan yesterday, the turntables have certainly turned for Michigan State Football.
When the Spartans lost to Rutgers in Week One, it looked like they wouldn’t have a chance to even sniff the top 25, but, surprisingly, in the latest Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY, Michigan State received nine votes.
Conversely, Michigan dropped 11 spots in the poll and is now all the way down at No. 25.

Penn State, who lost to Ohio State last night, completely fell out of the poll and only received 56 votes. If you would’ve told me a few weeks ago that MSU would be approaching a similar level to Penn State, I would’ve been surprised, but that’s a testament to Mel Tucker and his relentless Spartans.
