Part of the allure of bringing Mel Tucker to Michigan State is related to his pedigree as a recruiter capable of bringing in some of the top athletes in the country to his programs. While that is still a work in progress early into the process, Tucker and his team just offered one of the top athletes in the country a scholarship in 2021 4-star prospect Sage ‘Flash’ Ryan.
Ryan is a versatile athlete who currently doesn’t have just one set position. 247sports has him compared to former Michigan jack-of-all-trades Jabril Peppers, for context. Ryan is the No. 39 ranked player in the 2021 class and the No. 2 ranked player in Louisiana. Given his highly-touted status, Ryan has offers out from all of the top programs in the country and is currently projected to end up at LSU. He also has offers from Alabama, Florida State, Auburn, Clemson, Georgia, and Michigan, to name a few.
Tucker also had an offer out to him while he was still at Colorado.
Blessed to receive an offer from Michigan State university! @CoachMikeTress @MSU_Football pic.twitter.com/tBfB2fXjdk
