Michigan State football has a huge leg up in recruiting given the fact that they have easy access into Detroit. While that area has been highly competitive due to the presence of teams like Michigan, Ohio State, and Penn State all going after players from the 313, it helps when you get in early. On Thursday, the Spartans offered 2022 Detroit Community wide receiver Malik Smith, his first Division I offer.
Smith is a 6’0″, 185-pound wide receiver. Rivals says he also has an offer from Syracuse, but in his announcement tweet he made it seem like this was his first offer:
