When Mel Tucker took over the reins for Michigan State football, he naturally put his own stamp on the program, tweaking some traditions here and there to mold the program in his vision. With long-time Spartan Harlon Barnett now in control of the program for the foreseeable future, he has started to bring back some old traditions.
Notably, Barnett is bringing back the full Spartan football gameday walk. Mel Tucker had shortened the walk, having it start at the Spartan Statue. Barnett is bringing it back to the original starting point at the Kellogg Center.
There will be a change in the route the Spartan football team will take to Spartan Stadium this Saturday.
The team will walk from the Kellogg Center, past the Spartan Statue, to Spartan Stadium, as was tradition for years. The walk is scheduled to begin at 2:50pm. Arrive early.— David Harns (@DavidHarns) September 13, 2023
