Anyone who is in need of some good news about Michigan State Football, avert your eyes now. On Monday night, the Spartans suffered another setback on the recruiting trail when 2021 commit Jake Renda flipped his commitment from Michigan State to Pitt.
Renda, a 3-star tight end, will join former Michigan State defensive coordinator Pat Narduzzi in Pittsburgh.
This is the second player in Michigan State’s 2021 recruiting class to de-commit from the program. The first was Gabe “Spida” Nealy out of Florida, who would go on to join South Florida.
Renda didn’t give much context around his decision, but thanked Michigan State’s coaching staff (specifically Mel Tucker and tight ends coach Ted Gilmore) and then quoted Andrew Carnegie. You can read his announcement below:
