You never take a victory in Big Ten play for granted, and now No. 19 Michigan State basketball has two in a row to start conference play, picking up an 80-64 win over Penn State in the Spartans’ Big Ten home opener.
This was yet another balanced attack from the Spartans, something that has been increasingly noted by analysts around the country as they try to figure out how opposing teams will game-plan against a program where any player in the game could lead the team in scoring on any given night.

Tonight, that role was filled by Gabe Brown and Marcus Bingham Jr. Brown had 15 points and 5 rebounds while Bingham had 12 points and a new career high of 13 rebounds.
From there, it was yet another balanced attack from the Spartans. Aside from the deep bench guys who came out at the end of the game (hello Steven Izzo!), every player who came into the game scored.
Tyson Walker also had another fantastic game for MSU as he continues to look more and more comfortable. He finished with 10 points, 9 assists, 3 steals and a rebound and only one turnover.
The Spartans did not miss a layup or dunk in this game, and they outscored Penn State in the transition game 33-1.
MSU will have 10 days off before facing Oakland on Dec. 21st.
