After a grueling start to the season for an under-manned Michigan State basketball team, the Spartans can now take a breath. MSU went 7-4 over that time, impressive considering the schedule, but due to bad losses against Notre Dame and Northwestern with only wins over Penn State and Brown to supplement, the Spartans only received four votes in the latest Coaches Poll.
They will likely hang around the periphery of the rankings for a while longer, at least until their match-up against the No. 17 Wisconsin Badgers on Jan. 10.
