With major Big Ten wins this week, especially a massive road win over Maryland, Michigan State Men’s Basketball has moved back up the polls to No. 17 from No. 24 in the USA TODAY NCAA Coaches Poll. The Spartans also knocked off Iowa by 8 points at home in the Breslin Center, leading to a strong end of the season for MSU.

The Spartans have picked up plenty of momentum to end the year after an uneven season had left them catapulting down the rankings after starting the season as the consensus number one team in the country for the first time ever. Without Joshua Langford or Joey Hauser available, the Spartans have resorted to playing freshmen like Rocket Watts and Malik Hall big minutes and those players have started to come into their own after a near full season of experience.

Michigan State will face another ranked Big Ten rival tomorrow in Penn State before closing the regular season against Ohio State.
