Michigan State Basketball had an epic run to end the regular season this year, blowing through Iowa, Maryland, and Ohio State on their way to a share of the Big Ten Regular Season Championship. Because of their recent success, the Spartans have jumped all the way up the national rankings. In the latest AP Poll, MSU is back in the top 10 at No. 9. They were No. 16 last week.

This is a well-deserved recognition of the Spartans’ late-season dominance and the conclusion to a crazy story about the Spartans and their national poll rankings this year.

After starting the season as the consensus No. 1 team in the country, they actually briefly fell out of the AP Poll top 25 (they did not fall out of the Coaches Poll top 25). They have now concluded the regular season in the top 10. This is a remarkable swing for a talented team who had a number of growing pains this year.
