Borovich has a lot of ties to the state of Michigan and MSU’s coaching staff. A native of Bloomfield Hills, Borovich played his college basketball at Central Michigan from 1997-2001. After his playing career, he was a graduate assistant at Michigan State from 2001-2003.
After Borovich’s stint as a GA at MSU, he has gone on to have a lengthy assistant coaching career in college basketball. He spent 2003-2005 as the director of basketball operations at Dayton and 2007-2011 as an assistant with the Flyers. In 2005-2007, Borovich was on Greg Kampe’s staff at Oakland. From 2011-2019, Borovich was an assistant coach at Northern Illinois under current Spartan assistant Mark Montgomery. Prior to joining MSU, he has spent the last 3 seasons on Chris Collins’ bench at Northwestern.
