Michigan State basketball got a huge influx of athleticism on the roster last year when they added 4-star forward Coen Carr to the program. The combo forward has some of the best hops in the game of basketball, period, and many have been looking forward to seeing him get an expanded role as he develops.
However, a short-lived Instagram story post on Thursday shed a little doubt, seemingly nowhere, about his future at MSU, and maybe in the sport of basketball.
An Instagram story posted and then quickly deleted by Carr today has been making the rounds on social media, and it gave a very short and cryptic message:
‘Think about quitting this everyday.’

Now, we don’t know exactly what Carr was referring to here, although it seems to imply he thinks about quitting basketball, or quitting basketball at MSU. But it’s important to keep in mind that these are very young men going through college and it’s hard for us as outsiders to say exactly what he was thinking here.
Also, playing college basketball is tough, especially a Tom Izzo fall camp, during grind week, getting ready for the season. It’s possible that Carr just went through an extremely difficult practice and was frustrated, which is very understandable.
