After starting his senior season with Ypsi Prep and Emoni Bates, Michigan State Basketball commit Jaden Akins is making a change. Sunrise Christian Academy, a prep school in Kansas, announced on Wednesday that Akins would be joining their roster.
The move was confirmed by the Detroit Free Press, although the reasons why he left Ypsi Prep are still unclear. He officially left the Michigan prep team back on Dec. 12th.
From a fan’s perspective, you can only hope that the move wasn’t caused due to any long-term issues between Bates and Akins. There is a strong chance the players will be playing together on MSU’s roster in the near future.
Sunrise Christian was the home of two other Spartans: Tum Tum Nairn and Malik Hall.
