That was one heck of a response. After a disappointing home opener, Tom Izzo and his Michigan State basketball squad were able to blow out Western Michigan 90-46 in the home opener.

Gabe Brown led all scorers with 17 points to go along with 7 rebounds. Joey Hauser and Marcus Bingham Jr. both added 12, and Hauser had a double double with 12 boards to go with 4 assists.

Star freshman Max Christie continues to ease into his season, scoring 6 points and adding 6 rebounds and 2 assists. Transfer point guard Tyson Walker looked much more comfortable in this outing, scoring 9 points to go with 5 assists.

The only gripe about this game for MSU? They are still turning the ball over at a high rate, which is especially frustrating to see against a lowly Western Michigan team. The Spartans coughed it up 13 times in this one.

MSU will have a tougher match-up in their next game as they travel to the legendary Hinkle Fieldhouse to take on Butler.
