A lot of prospective college football players have been introspective during the sports hiatus due to coronavirus, taking to social media to announce their top schools.

While Michigan has made many of the cuts circulating, this one is big — literally.

2021 Scottsdale (AZ) Saguaro four-star strong-side defensive end Quintin Somerville is listed by 247Sports at 6-foot-3, 230-pounds and is rated as the nation’s No. 49 recruit in the country, regardless of position. He’s held a Michigan offer for more than a year, having been offered all the way back in Jan. 2019, and has 16 reported offers according to 247Sports. He visited Ann Arbor in April last year.

And late on Tuesday night, Somerville posted his top 8, announcing that Michigan did, indeed, make the cut.

While Somerville has one 247Sports Crystal Ball predicting that he’ll end up at Oklahoma, the Sooners did not make the cut.

However, Michigan will have some tough competition, as some big time schools such as Georgia, Washington and Florida State did.

He’s also considering Utah, Arizona State, New Mexico and Vanderbilt.

Somerville is rated as the top player in the state of Arizona and the No. 4 strong-side defensive end in the 2021 class.
