At long last, we know when Michigan football’s first rivalry game will kick off and how to see it.
While it had seemed in the preseason as if this last week’s Penn State game provided a solid opportunity for a night game, especially considering that when the teams are good and the game is in Happy Valley, it’s often a night game with a ‘white out.’ This past week’s game was a ‘maize out,’ yet it was still a noon kickoff.
It has long been rumored that Michigan’s Week 9 home game against rival Michigan State would be a night game, and it turns out that the rumors are true. On Monday, the game time and channel was announced and the battle for the Paul Bunyan trophy will kick off at 7:30 p.m. EDT and will be broadcast on ABC.

Jim Harbaugh is 3-4 against his in-state rival, with the Wolverines having lost two games in a row to the Spartans. However, it would be an incredible upset should Michigan lose this game. The maize and blue enter the game at 7-0 while MSU is 3-4.
Both teams are on bye this week.
