Michigan football continued having an uneven performance in Week 5. The Wolverines bludgeoned Minnesota early before suddenly, and quickly, letting the Gophers get within striking distance. Part of it was an indictment on the offense still struggling to put drives together, but late defensive lapses bore their ugly head for yet another week.
But Michigan still benefits from having one of the best wins in college football after beating USC last week.
As a result, Michigan came in still ranked highly in the Week 6 US LBM Coaches Poll, moving from No. 12 to No. 10. Texas is ranked No. 1, and three future opponents also are ranked: Illinois is No. 25, Indiana is No. 24, Oregon is No. 6 and Ohio State is No. 3.
