Michigan football held on for as long as it could but with a third loss in the 2024 season, the Wolverines dropped out of the polls, not the least the one led by the coaches across college football.
In the latest US LBM Coaches Poll, the maize and blue dropped out, likely for good, having lost to Illinois on Saturday, 21-7. Though the Illini were ranked one ahead of the Wolverines at No. 21, considering that Michigan was No. 22 meant that there was little room for error.
As a result of the week that was in college football, former opponent Texas dropped from No. 6 after having lost to Georgia. Illinois stayed at No. 21 after having beaten Michigan. Future opponents rank as follows: Indiana is No. 13, Oregon is No. 1 and Ohio State is No. 4.
