The No. 22 Michigan Wolverines (17-5, 9-2 Big 10) head to Bloomington to face the Indiana Hoosiers (14-9, 5-7) Saturday. Tip-off from Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall is set for 1 p.m. ET (CBS). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s college basketball odds around the Michigan vs. Indiana odds, and make our expert college basketball picks and predictions.
Michigan picked up its 3rd straight win Wednesday, edging out the Oregon Ducks 80-76. Despite the victory, the Wolverines failed to cover as 7.5-point home favorites, while the Over 152 hit. Four starters scored in double figures, but it was F Will Tschetter that led the way off the bench with 17 points.
Indiana’s struggles continued Tuesday with a 76-64 loss to Wisconsin, marking its 4th straight defeat. The Hoosiers failed to cover as 9-point road underdogs, while the Under 152.5 cashed. Turnovers were a major issue, with Indiana committing 11. F Mackenzie Mgbako fought hard, finishing with 15 points and 4 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to snap their losing streak.

Michigan at Indiana picks and predictions
Prediction
Indiana 79, Michigan 75
Moneyline
BET INDIANA (+125).
Indiana has a chance to pull off an emotional upset Saturday in Bloomington. With the announcement that coach Mike Woodson will step down at the end of the season, the Hoosiers could rally behind him for a big home win. They’ve had Michigan’s number recently, winning 4 straight in this matchup and covering in 3 of those.
Michigan has struggled to cover, failing to do so in 6 straight games, while Indiana has covered in 3 of its last 5, including a home cover against Maryland. The Wolverines typically hold a size advantage with two 7-footers, but Indiana can match that with C Oumar Ballo and a pair of 6-foot-9 forwards in Malik Reneau and Mgbako.
With Michigan’s recent struggles and Indiana’s motivation to send Woodson out on a high note, this has all the makings of another Saturday upset. The Hoosiers get it done at home.
Against the spread
PASS.
If you want to take those 2 1/2 points with Indiana, I completely understand but I’d rather take the plus-odds on the moneyline.
Over/Under
BET OVER 153.5 (-105).
The Over looks like the play here, with strong trends backing it up. It has cashed in 4 of the last 5 meetings between these teams. Michigan has hit the Over in 8 of its last 10 games, averaging 82.2 points per game (PPG). Indiana isn’t far behind, going Over in 7 of its last 10 while putting up 76.5 PPG. Expect plenty of points in this one.
