The life of an analyst — that is, behind the scenes and off-field personnel — is that of one with quick change. They’re around for a moment and then they’re gone.
Last offseason, Michigan football had brought aboard one of its former offensive coordinators who has traversed the college football landscape to be an offensive analyst in Mike DeBord. DeBoard was the offensive line coach then offensive coordinator between the years of 1993-99 before becoming the head coach at Central Michigan. When that didn’t work out, he returned as the special teams coach and then OC again from 2004-07 before spending the next five years in the NFL. He then went to Tennessee and Indiana before spending a season with the defunct AAF’s San Diego Fleet. Then had another year in Ann Arbor as the offensive analyst.
Now he’s on the move once again, hired by former Michigan player/assistant Les Miles to be Kansas’ new offensive coordinator.

With Michigan retooling its attack on both sides of the ball, such attrition is expected, even if DeBord was a behind-the-scenes type this past season.
