Despite the Houston Texans firm stance that they won’t be trading franchise quarterback Deshaun Watson, it continues to look like that’s where things are headed at some point this offseason.

Which means every team that’s not the Kansas City Chiefs are interested in trading for a young, franchise quarterback in his prime. And, it goes without saying, the Chicago Bears are very interested.

The Bears were mentioned as one of three teams that had already called Houston about Watson, according to Ian Rapoport, and they’re expected to make a push for a quarterback this offseason.

According to John McClain, the starting price for Watson is two first-round picks, two second-round picks and two young defensive starters. And it’s a price that the Bears could certainly afford.

In an interview with The Herd, Michael Vick shared his thoughts on where he believes Watson should go, which is significant considering Watson holds leverage here with his no-trade clause.

Vick said that he would talk to Watson later about the situation, specifically about teams that he should be considering. Teams that have a dominant defense and weapons on offense. The two teams he mentioned were the San Francisco 49ers and, yes, the Bears.

“If I’m his agent, I’m pushing to get with the best team,” Vick said. “I’m looking to get with the San Francisco 49ers or the Chicago Bears. Need some defense. Need some weapons. Those teams are short of a quarterback. If a deal can be made, a deal can be made with D-Wat.”

The Bears were expected to be big players in the quarterback market, which is exactly how things have panned out. Chicago reportedly offered more than a first-round pick for Matthew Stafford and they’ve been in contact about Watson. The Bears are getting aggressive in their pursuit of a quarterback, which is a refreshing change of pace.Mi
