Michael Jordan speaks to the Alabama Crimson Tide football team

Michael Jordan joined the Alabama Crimson Tide tonight via Zoom to pour wisdom and encouragement into the team.

On Tuesday evening, legendary basketball player Michael Jordan joined the Alabama Crimson Tide tonight via Zoom to pour wisdom and encouragement into the team.

During the call, he spoke about winning, what it costs to win, and how motivation and determination are what makes champions.

As Jordan said himself, “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.”

He also had this to say: ““Winning is a part of me, I will do anything to win.”

There have been many famous athletes who have spoken to the Crimson Tide football team including Kobe Bryant.

Nick Saban is no stranger to hard work and success, and it’s one of the many reasons both Saban and Michael Jordan have been so successful. Saban explains in this short video why he admires and respects Jordan, and how the University of Alabama is trying to instill that mindset into his players.

“I think one of the reasons why I have so much respect for what we just heard (the video) was this sort of defines the ultimate competitor and the ultimate sacrifice you have to make to win, the ultimate sacrifice you have to make to be a leader. It probably explains what we’ve tried to accomplish here in this program by what we try to bring out in our players which is to help them be the best version of themselves as people, as students, and as players, and get people to aspire to be the very best they can be, that’s all we’ve ever tried to do here (Alabama.) And I’ve never heard anyone ever articulate better than Michael Jordan did because of the type of competitor he was” – Saban

There’s no doubt that Michael Jordan is one of the best basketball players of all time, and there’s also no doubt that Nick Saban is one of the best college football coaches of all time.

It’s the goat mentality: Greatest of all time.

It’s what makes them who they are. It’s how they succeed.

Nick Saban has helped Alabama become a program unlike any other.
