Mic’d-up video of Chase Young admiring Nick Bosa’s game should have 49ers fans pumped about the trade

And now they’re teammates again.

The San Fransisco 49ers pulled off a shocking move ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline when they acquired defensive end Chase Young from the Commanders for a third-round pick. The move pairs Young with Nick Bosa and immediately gives San Francisco one of the league’s most talented pass-rushing tandems.

The trade also teams up two players who are very familiar with each other.

Young and Bosa were teammates at Ohio State, and Young had the opportunity to learn from Bosa before becoming a No. 2 overall pick. In mic’d-up footage from NFL Films, it turned out that Young’s admiration for Bosa’s game continued into his NFL career.

After the trade was announced, NFL Films shared footage from 2022’s matchup between the Niners and Commanders. And we could hear how Young explained to his teammates on the sidelines just how effective Bosa’s technique can be. Bosa ended up having a monster game that day with seven tackles, two sacks and two tackles for a loss.

And though Young’s injuries have largely held him back from being an All-Pro kind of player, the chemistry and understanding he has with Bosa should have Niners fans loving that trade.
