Friday, February 16, is opening day for Texas A&M’s 2024 baseball season, and everyone is excited to see this talented Aggie squad finally take the field. Much deserved hype (on paper at least) surrounds the team with two consensus All-Americans and boasts a top-10 ranking heading into the 2024 season. The talent level is undeniable, but all expectations must be dampened until we see how the pitching shakes out after a few weeks of play.
If the pitching is even a fraction better than it was last season, this squad has a great chance of making it to the Super regionals this summer. Then, the sky is the limit from that point. Outside of just the talent, there has been a sense of camaraderie and genuine joy in the game among the team. A quick snippet from Aggie Hayden Schott gives us a glimpse of that.
