The quarterback class of the 2025 NFL draft is wide open through three weeks of the college football season. No quarterback has set themselves apart so far and more quarterbacks have lost ground as opposed to boosted it. Guys like Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders and Texas A&M’s Connor Weigman have both taken a serious step back after looking like the top two quarterbacks.
One guy who is making a very strong case to work his way into the QB1 spot is Miami’s Cam Ward. Ward has been unstoppable so far this season and of the top quarterbacks in the country, throws the best deep ball. Ward is also a solid athlete and can beat defenses with his feet if necessary.
On Saturday against Ball State, Ward three for 345 yards and five touchdowns in just one drive over a half of play. This gives Ward 1,035 passing yards and 12 total touchdowns through three games.
There are going to be plenty of quarterback-needy teams when the draft rolls around and if Ward can continue to improve, he will push Carson Beck for the top quarterback as long as he can hold off Alabama signal caller Jalen Milroe who is our other big riser through three weeks.
