Miami Dolphins could trade for Deshaun Watson within the week, what about Tua?

A trade could happen within the next week, according to reports.

Tua Tagovailoa has had his name in the headlines a lot in the 2021 offseason, and most of the time it likely wasn’t something all too positive. Whether it be trade rumors or critics calling him a bust, it hasn’t been the prettiest scene for a young quarterback trying to find his footing in the league.

Well, during his few preseason appearances, the criticism has started to dissipate, as he looks like a completely different quarterback.

However, the trade rumors are beginning to heat back up.

The Miami Dolphins coaching staff has taken a strong stance with the media: Tua Tagovailoa is the Miami quarterback for the 2021 season. They are dedicated to helping him grow and become the franchise star they hoped for when he was drafted No. 5 overall.

That being said, they could have the option of acquiring an already-established star in the league: Houston Texans’ Deshaun Watson.

Watson’s name was brought up earlier in the offseason pertaining to trade rumors, and Miami was considered a serious contender. Then came Watson’s off-the-field sexual misconduct allegations, which led to investigations by police and the NFL, which forced all trade rumors to come to a screeching halt.

Today, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported that a Watson trade could be likely within the week. He reports the two teams with the highest likelihood of landing the quarterback are Miami and Carolina.

There’s no word yet on if either of those teams are offering up what the Texans wanted, which was a handful of first-round draft picks and then some.

It is believed, though, that the Texans would seek a quarterback in the deal, which means Tagovailoa would likely be on the move in this scenario.
