The Memphis Grizzlies (16-8) square off against the Washington Wizards (3-18) Sunday evening. Tip-off from Capital One Arena is set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Grizzlies vs. Wizards odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.

Season series: Grizzlies lead 1-0

The Grizzlies are flyin’ high after a 127-121 win at TD Garden over the defending champion Boston Celtics Saturday night. They entered as 7-point dogs. G Ja Morant nearly had a triple-double with 32 points, 9 boards and 9 assists while F Jaren Jackson Jr. added 27 points, 9 boards and 4 blocks. The Grizz have won 8 of 10.

Story time! I was scrolling through some scores Saturday night to see if any live bets were worthy of some action. I noticed the Denver Nuggets were down 12 at halftime to the 2-win Wizards. Is Nuggets C Nikola Jokic playing? Yes. So, I considered playing the Nuggets +2.5, but something felt off and I didn’t love the line down 12 on the road. I’m glad I didn’t because the Wizards won 122-113 as 11.5-point dogs. G Jordan Poole had 39 points on 9-for-20 from 3-point land to outlast Jokic’s 56 points. The win ended a 16-game losing streak.

Grizzlies at Wizards picks and predictions

Prediction

Grizzlies 128, Wizards 101

Moneyline

These teams met in Memphis Nov. 8, and the Grizz covered as 8-point favorites with a 128-104 win. Morant and G Desmond Bane were out for that one.

There is no bet here after the Wizards cashed as +525 dogs Saturday night. That’s a perfect example of why you don’t bet on such huge favorites.

Instead, I like JAREN JACKSON JR. OVER 1.5 THREE-POINTERS (-105). He was 3-for-4 from deep Saturday and has hit 2 from downtown in 3 of 4. C Jonas Valanciunas will be matched up against him, and he’s a big, hulking center that Jackson will want to try to exploit out on the perimeter.

Against the spread

Despite this game being in Washington and on the heels of one of the biggest upsets of the entire NBA season, I’m going GRIZZLIES -11.5 (-110). I don’t love it, but I guarantee you that opened Memphis’ eyes in a game maybe the Grizz took a little lighter than normal. Ja and the boys cruise.

Over/Under

The Grizzlies are 6-4 O/U in the last 10, and Washington is 3-6-1. The Wiz scored 122 Saturday night, which was the most they’d scored in 10 games. I see them reverting back to their 25th-ranked 107.4 PPG average, and I don’t see Memphis topping 130 to cash an Over on a back-to-back.

Take the UNDER 240.5 (-110).
