Moneyline
Despite losing 2 straight games to begin the season, I’ll back the GRIZZLIES (-115) on the road in Saturday’s contest. Bane should have a bounce-back performance for Memphis and G Marcus Smart should limit Poole’s effectiveness on the other end of the court.
Against the spread
GRIZZLIES -1.5 (-105) is the play as this spread would be even bigger if Memphis wasn’t on a back-to-back. The Wizards aren’t going to be a contender this season, while the Grizzlies are trying to stay afloat until G Ja Morant comes back from a suspension.
Over/Under
LEAN OVER 227.5 (-115).
This wager is entirely predicated on how abysmal Washington’s defense looks like it is going to be this season. The Wizards surrendered 143 points to the Pacers Wednesday, and the Grizzlies still have a handful of capable scorers sans Morant.
