Melvin Gordon joins tradition of great Denver Broncos running backs

Melvin Gordon has agreed to terms with the Denver Broncos, stepping into a backfield that has a great history.

Otis Armstrong came to the Broncos from Purdue. He was a first-round choice, ninth overall in 1973. Armstrong had two 1,000-yard seasons, rushing for 1,407 yards in 1974 and 1,008 yards in ’76. Overall, Armstrong rushed for 4,453 yards with Denver.
