Mekhi Becton wants to join forces with Adam Sandler — on the basketball court

Jets OT Mekhi Becton seems intrigued by the idea of playing pickup basketball with comedian Adam Sandler.

Mekhi Becton isn’t just a willing blocker. He’s more than happy to pull up a jump shot, too.

In fact, the Jets’ second-year tackle is ready to play some pickup basketball with Adam Sandler. The 54-year-old actor recently went viral on Twitter for playing pickup hoops on Long Island.

In the viral video, Sandler dished out a nice pass to the top of the key. The shot was subsequently missed by Sandler’s teammate. But it might not have been had Becton been the recipient of that pass.

The Jets’ official Twitter account floated the idea, meshing the clip of Sandler with video from Becton’s high school basketball days. Becton was on board to join forces with the comedian.

While that may sound like the plot of one of Sandler’s movies down the line, he and Becton could be a formidable duo on the court. They are both more athletic than they’re given credit for, and Becton could probably set some vicious screens in addition to stretching the floor with his deep shot.

As for Sandler, he’s still got it for his age, but he may be better suited looking for Becton when he’s open.
