Russell Wilson is reportedly unhappy with the Seattle Seahawks, and that has been enough to send the NFL offseason right into full hysteria mode. It’s hard to think of too many fanbases that wouldn’t be interested in adding Wilson to their roster, and we’ve already gone through a number of teams that could be interesting fits.
One of those teams is the New Orleans Saints. Is there any chance that Wilson could actually land there? Sure. Anything is possible. So it’s unsurprising that Saints fans are actively trying to recruit Wilson to come to NOLA.
What is a little bit surprising is that the city’s actual mayor is now getting involved in this.
I have been hearing the rumors on the streets. 👀 I don't know if they are true or not. But, I just want @dangerusswilson & @ciara to know that if these rumors are true. Please know that the City of New Orleans will welcome you and your family with open arms! #nola #whodat pic.twitter.com/yE1MJYssLS

New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell posted a video to her social media on Saturday (in a happy coincidence, the Twitter post came at 5:04 p.m. ET). In it, Cantrell said that while she couldn’t know if the rumors are true, she wanted both Wilson and his partner Ciara to know they would be welcome in New Orleans.
I love forward to a city councilman from Las Vegas or the Governor of Illinois to get in on the fun soon.
