Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan played one of the worst games of his career a week ago and quickly made due on his promise to correct his mistakes. Despite another frustrating loss, Ryan went off for 356 passing yards and three scores against the Bucs on Sunday.
His 69.4 percent completion rate and 110.6 passer rating were the highest totals Ryan has recorded since before the bye week. At the very least, the former MVP showed he still has the ability get the team in a position to win.
“We wanted to come in and be aggressive from the start,” said Ryan after the game. “I thought we were and I thought we played a nice first half.”
The Falcons QB also went on about the team’s failure to execute when the opportunities presented themselves. “We had a handful of chances there in the second half to make some plays and we didn’t do it,” said Ryan. “We had two three-and-outs in the third quarter, which were tough.”
