Matt McMahon shoulders blame for shooting inefficiency in recent games

McMahon said he needs to do a better job putting LSU’s shooters into position.

LSU was off to a hot 12-1 start to the season under new head coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] and the Tigers were riding high after beating Arkansas, who was ranked No. 9 at the time. Since then, LSU has gone 0-3 with losses to Kentucky, Texas A&M and Florida.

In their past two games, the Tigers scored 56 points in both games, which ties for a season-low in points scored. The schedule doesn’t get any easier with a road game against Alabama and a home game against Auburn coming up. Alabama is currently No. 4 in the country and 4-0 in the conference while Auburn is 3-1 in conference play, but not ranked.

Coach [autotag]Matt McMahon[/autotag] said he takes responsibility for the recent shooting woes.

“We’ve got to do a better job. I’ve got to be a better job coaching, to put us in better positions to where we can shoot higher percentage shots from the floor,”

LSU hits the road for a game with Alabama on Saturday at Coleman Coliseum in Tuscaloosa. The tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT.
