CAMDEN, N.J.–The Philadelphia 76ers are preparing for Game 2 with the Toronto Raptors on Monday as that is their No. 1 and most important priority at this point in time.
However, as Games 3 and 4 in Toronto loom, they will be missing their best perimeter defender for that game.
Matisse Thybulle has been barred from entering Canada due their mandate that one needs to be fully vaccinated to enter the country. Thybulle revealed that he only has one shot of Pfizer and did not get the second one and therefore cannot make the trip to Toronto.
Although Game 2 is the obvious focus at the moment, Thybulle did discuss what he plans to do with the team on the road.
“I’m gonna watch the game,” said Thybulle at shootaround on Monday. “I’ll probably watch it by myself just because everyone’s gonna be on the road, obviously. It’s always frustrating to watch as opposed to playing, but this is the situation I find myself in so I’m gonna make the most of it.”
With the Sixers being away for roughly five days, this does give Thybulle an opportunity to be able to get some individual work in and continue to stay ready for when they do return home.
“Working out,” he said. “Just intensity getting up and down. A good opportunity for me to just continue to work on my game and get shots up, get reps up, watch film, and just be prepared as possible for when they come home. Hopefully two more wins.”
