Matisse Thybulle and the Philadelphia 76ers kicked off their three-game scrimmage schedule on Friday, and the rookie quickly found himself trending prior to halftime.
The 76ers opened up scrimmage play against the Memphis Grizzlies, the first game for both teams ahead of the season restart this month. Philadelphia held a 54-28 lead at the intermission as Thybulle chipped in five points and two steals in the first half.
Perhaps none of his points were bigger than the dunk he threw down over Grizzlies forward Jaren Jackson Jr. Thybulle caught the ball, found a lane and made an impressive scrimmage debut with the dunk over Jackson.

The results of the matchup, of course, won’t count toward the season standings but the Sixers came out aggressive and ready to play against the Grizzlies. From the opening tip, the Sixers looked to be a team that picked up right where they left off in March.
While Thybulle’s dunk over Jackson won’t count for anything, the play gave basketball fans something to cheer about after going four-plus months without live hoops action.
