Matisse Thybulle has high praise for Danny Green for what he brings to Sixers

Philadelphia 76ers guard Matisse Thybulle praises Danny Green for being so helpful for the team.

The Philadelphia 76ers are in the process of getting ready for what they hope will be a long run into the 2021 playoffs. Their journey will begin on Sunday at 1 p.m. EDT as they will take on either the Washington Wizards or the Indiana Pacers out of the play-in tournament.

In order to get the job done in the playoffs and get to where they want to go, they will need everybody to help their star duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons to get the job done.

One person who is incredibly important to their success has been veteran Danny Green. He has been knocking down the 3-pointer in his first season in Philadelphia and he has been a great veteran influence to the younger players as he has empowered them.

Green has been especially helpful to a young guy like Matisse Thybulle who in his second season has morphed into one of the elite defenders in the league. He has had the help of Green who has used his past wisdom to help him take more steps as a player and to help the team as a whole.

“His track record, his history, just having been a part of so many winning teams, having been a key part in a lot of winning teams,” Thybulle started. “He has so much to give in that sense of even just the comparisons he can make from this team to teams that have won championships and where what we lack.”

It does help that Green is a proven 3-and-D player on three teams that won a championship. He also has won the previous two titles in 2019 with the Toronto Raptors and in 2020 with the Los Angeles Lakers. Those experiences can help the Sixers reach their goals in 2021.

“What other teams had or where we need to grow or what we have and we can also build on,” Thybulle continued. “That’s more than a skill. That’s just life experiences or the career experience of a player that very very very few guys have.”

Green is also a guy who is more than willing to pull a guy to the side and help explain things to him. Sometimes, it can be tough for players to pick up on things, and having a veteran around is good for the team.

“Danny Green’s record as a player is just incredible,” Thybulle finished. “The fact that he can bring that to the table and also helps that he’s a smart, articulate guy who really isn’t bad for the game. His ability to explain it to people is just beyond helpful.”
