Marshon Lattimore not practicing vs. Chargers on Friday

New Orleans Saints star cornerback Marshon Lattimore was not practicing versus the Los Angeles Chargers on Friday, his leg wrapped in compression bandages:

One of the New Orleans Saints’ star players wasn’t participating in Friday’s joint practice session with the Los Angeles Chargers — starting cornerback Marshon Lattimore was in attendance but not wearing a helmet. Video shared by NewOrleans.Football’s Brooke Kirchhofer shows Lattimore standing on the practice field with his teammates, his left leg heavily wrapped.

We’re speculating, so this might be totally inaccurate, but Lattimore does have a history of hamstring inflammation going back to his college days at Ohio State. It’s something the Saints were careful to manage throughout his first few years in the league. He hasn’t had many issues with it recently but that could be the problem here. The wrap appears to extend to Lattimore’s knee, though, so keep an eye out for further clarification. Maybe it’s something else.

Hamstring inflammation can be treated by applying ice packs with compression bandages, which appears to be what Lattimore is wearing in the video from Saints-Chargers practice. But of course we’ll wait for Dennis Allen to address the situation Friday afternoon. Hopefully this isn’t anything serious for Lattimore, who has put together his best offseason in years with New Orleans this summer.
