Every time we think Marshawn Lynch is ready to start his life after the NFL, he proves us wrong. He may be looking to do it again. The 34-year-old told ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt Monday night that his agent Doug Hendrickson has been in talks with the Seahawks about suiting up again this season.

“Expect the unexpected, you know what I mean?” Lynch said when asked if he’s hoping to return to the NFL this season. “What I do know is my agent has been in talks with Seattle, so like I said we’ll see what happens. If things work out and I get back up there it is what it is, if not, shit, I’m living good, so I ain’t really tripping too much.”

Lynch announced his retirement after the 2015 season. But after a year out of football, he had the chance to suit up for his hometown Oakland Raiders, and jumped at the opportunity. He would play in 21 games in Silver & Black over two seasons before a groin injury sent him to injured reserve.

He was open to returning for a third season with the Raiders prior to last season, but the Raiders moved on, drafting Josh Jacobs in the first round of last year’s draft and making him the feature back.

Without his hometown team showing interest, most thought Lynch had played his last down of NFL football. Then the Seahawks suffered several injuries at the running back position and being that they were in a playoff chase, on Christmas Eve, Beast Mode made his return to his second home.

His first game back was the Seahawks’ season finale against the rival 49ers. They would lose that game 26-21, but still head to the playoffs and win their postseason opener against the Eagles. Lynch had another touchdown in that game and two touchdowns the following week in a divisional round loss to the Packers.
