Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Marquis Haynes Sr. has sent out his first message since Sunday’s scary events.
In the third quarter of the New Year’s Eve loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the sixth-year veteran collapsed onto the field multiple times following a tackle of quarterback C.J. Beathard. Haynes Sr.—who sustained a concussion on the play—was carted off, transported to a local medical facility and kept behind overnight for additional testing.
Per an official release from the team, he returned to Charlotte on Monday afternoon. The 30-year-old defender had this to post late Tuesday morning:
Thank you 🙏🏾 everyone for all the prayers really means a lot me ❤️

Haynes Sr., who began the season on injured reserve due to a lingering back issue, has played in just seven games in 2023. He’s made one start over those seven outings—totaling 16 combined tackles (three for a loss), 1.0 sack and two quarterback hits.
The Panthers have also stated that Haynes Sr. is currently in concussion protocol.
