The UFC’s Super Bowl Saturday lineup continues to build with the addition of a women’s bantamweight bout.
[autotag]Macy Chiasson[/autotag] (6-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) will try to get another winning streak started when she takes on [autotag]Marion Reneau[/autotag] (9-6-1 MMA, 5-5-1 UFC), who will be looking for her first win in three years. A person with knowledge of the booking confirmed the matchup to MMA Junkie on Friday. The person requested anonymity because the UFC has not yet made a formal announcement.
The UFC’s Super Bowl weekend “Fight Night” card is set for Feb. 6, though a venue and location have not yet been announced. The event is expected to air on a combination of ESPN and ESPN+.
Chiasson rebounded from the first loss of her pro career with a unanimous decision win over Shanna Young in February. That got her back on track after a decision loss to Lina Lansberg in September 2019 that came after a perfect 5-0 start, as well as wins on Season 28 of “The Ultimate Fighter.”
Reneau is mired in three-fight skid with a decision loss to Cat Zingano in 2018, one to Yana Kunitskaya in 2019, and one to Raquel Pennington in June. Prior to that, she was on a 3-0-1 run that included a submission win over Olympic medalist and former title challenger Sara McMann in February 2018.
The Feb. 6 UFC card will be headlined by a heavyweight bout between former UFC title challenger Alistair Overeem and former Bellator champ Alexander Volkov.
