8 seed: 2007-08

Regular-season record: 40-42

Playoff result: Lost in Round 1

Key players

Iguodala-With the trade of Iverson the year before, it was time for Iguodala to step up more and he averaged 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists for the “Run with Us” Sixers.

Andre Miller-The steady point guard did it all for Philadelphia averaging 17.0 points, 6.9 assists, and 4.0 rebounds. He obviously was not Iverson, but he gave the team what they needed.

Dalembert-He averaged a double-double of 10.5 points and 10.4 rebounds with 2.3 blocks. It was arguably his best season in the league.

Willie Green-This was also, arguably, Green’s best season. He averaged 12.4 points, but he still struggled from deep. That was the biggest knock on him.

Williams-This was the beginning of the bench scoring barrage for him. He averaged 11.5 points off the bench and he made a big difference.

Young-The steady big man off the bench poured in 8.2 points and 4.2 rebounds and his ability to run helped fuel this offense.

9 seed: 1985-86

Regular-season record: 54-28

Playoff result: Lost in East semifinals

Key players

Malone-This was his final season in Philadelphia before heading to the Washington Bullets. He averaged 23.6 points and 11.8 rebounds for them.

Erving-He wasn’t quite “The Doctor” anymore, but he still poured in 18.1 points per game and he was an All-Star. He was still a good player.

Barkley-Barkley was just in his second season, but he still made a big impact. He averaged 20.0 points and 12.8 rebounds per game playing well next to Malone and Erving.

Cheeks-Cheeks seemed to step his game up even more and averaged 15.4 points and 9.2 assists along with 2.5 steals. He was so good on both ends of the floor.

Sedale Threatt-In his third season in the league, he averaged 9.9 points and 2.8 assists per game. He was the guy who did all of the little things.

Jones-The key bench piece continued to produce in his final season in the league. He averaged 7.0 points and 2.4 rebounds, but he was still counted on by the team.

Terry Catledge-He became a regular starter in the playoffs. He averaged 10.4 points and 6.8 rebounds in the postseason.
