No. 7 2002-03 Sixers vs. No. 10 2004-05 Sixers
7 seed: 2002-03
Regular-season record: 48-34
Playoff result: Lost in East semifinals
Key players
Iverson-Once again, the team’s leader had a hell of a season. He averaged 27.6 points and 5.5 assists and he threw the team on his back on a nightly basis.
Snow-He still got a bad rep. Again, it isn’t like he was this star, but he was an important piece. He averaged 12.9 points and 6.6 assists for Philadelphia and he knew his role.
Keith Van Horn-He was a bit of a disappointment. He averaged 15.9 points, but he did not become that true second scorer the team was desperately looking for next to Iverson.
Kenny Thomas-Acquired in a trade from the Houston Rockets, Thomas averaged 10.2 points and 8.5 rebounds as he did the dirty work down low.
Derrick Coleman-Coleman was at the end of his career, but he did average 9.4 points and 7.0 rebounds for Philadelphia.
McKie-He was not the same player, but he did average 9.0 points and 4.4 rebounds. He was a big piece in helping them reach Round 2.
10 seed: 2004-05
Regular-season record: 43-39
Playoff result: Lost in Round 1
Key players
Iverson-Of course, everything starts with The Answer. He averaged 30.7 points and 7.9 assists as he fashioned himself one of his finest seasons.
Chris Webber-One of the more disappointing players in Sixers history, he was acquired from the Sacramento Kings hoping to give Iverson a compliment, but he just couldn’t do it averaging 15.6 points.
Igoudala-The rookie made an immediate impact for this team. He became an instant starter and he averaged 9.0 points and 5.7 rebounds and he impressed on defense.
Kyle Korver-Korver became a consistent starter for this team and he morphed into one of the best 3-point shooters in the league. He was lethal from deep.
Samuel Dalembert-He’s another Sixer who got a bit of a bad rep. He was not worth that contract he was given, but he averaged 8.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks in 2005.
Marc Jackson-He was a key big man off their bench. He averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds and he even earned some starts at times.
