Many Redskins’ coaches unsure of future with the team going forward

While a new regime is getting started in Washington, many of the old coaches are unsure of whether or not they will have a job going forward

Things are happening quickly for the Washington Redskins, but it may not be quick enough for a few people within the building.

As Ron Rivera kicks off 2020 in Washington at the head of a new regime with a fresh spring of hope in the fanbase, there are a number of coaches with the Redskins who don’t yet know their fate. While Jack Del Rio has been brought in as the defensive coordinator, and Kevin O’Connell is likely to be retained at OC, the same can’t be said about a number of other decision-makers in the building.

On Wednesday afternoon it was reported by ESPN’s John Keim that former interim head coach Bill Callahan would be let go by the Redskins, and a number of other coaches are likely to see the same fate. However, many of those coaches are unaware if it will be them or not.

An introductory press conference for Ron Rivera will be held at 2 p.m. ET on Thursday, January 2nd. With the new head coach facing the media for the first time in Washington, it would not be a shock to hear of some more coaching changes before then, so Rivera doesn’t have to break news while on the podium. Stay tuned for more information.
