Maliek Collins left the Houston Texans’ Week 7 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders with an injury. His status is currently listed as questionable, and the nature of the injury is unknown.

The injury came after a play where Rasheem Green got in the Raiders’ backfield to register a sack on quarterback Derek Carr. On the ensuing play, Carr dropped back to throw, completing his pass for a modest gain. Collins went down after a great effort in the pass rush and was helped off the field.

His absence in the Texans’ defense will be sorely missed, as Collins has been one of the more consistent contributors on the unit this season. In his first season in Houston, Collins has made quite the impression on his defensive coaches, who rely on him for push against opposing offensive lines.

He is a 27-year-old veteran who has spent time with the Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders in recent years.
