Magic at Celtics: Boston falls flat to Orlando in Jayson Tatum’s absence, loses 95-92

Eerily similar to Friday’s loss, Boston played a disconnected brand of basketball the Magic stayed in front of to steal another road win.

The Boston Celtics were without star forward Jayson Tatum in their home-and-home rematch with the Orlando Magic, the St. Louis native out for what was listed as “personal reasons” by the team, and despite the Magic having a 10-20 record, Boston really could have used Tatum’s help.

In an eerily similar contest to the game the Celtics dropped to Orlando on Friday, Boston played a disconnected brand of basketball on their homecourt that the Magic’s hustle kept them in front of for nearly the entire game. Jaylen Brown led the team with 24 points and 14 rebounds, with Marcus Smart (15 points, 7 boards 7 assists), and Grant Williams (14 points, 6 rebounds) the only players who showed up to play.
