Mac Jones was named the top quarterback on the American team at the Senior Bowl on Friday. At the conclusion of the final practice, there was an awards ceremony, and that’s where Jones was given the recognition.
Jim Nagy, the senior director of the Senior Bowl, announced the news via his Twitter account.
“Alabama’s Mac Jones was named top QB on the American team in a vote from the secondary group at practice player-of-the-week awards ceremony tonight at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.”

Despite finishing third in the Heisman Trophy vote while breaking several school records en route to an undefeated national title, there are still a few doubters out there.
People have questioned whether or not Jones could succeed outside of Tuscaloosa. With the top wide receiver, running back, offensive line and coach in the country, many of those same people believe the Florida native is a product of the system.
Well, his success down in Mobile this week should put that idea to rest. This is a guy who went from being a late Day 1/early Day 2 pick to potentially going in the top half of the first round. In fact, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him go in the top 10.
Folks are about to find out about this guy.
