Luke Kornet and the Boston Celtics’ bench are taking over

The Vanderbilt alum has gone from mostly a liability to a problem for opposing bench lineups.

Even at the start of this season, it was not clear that the Boston Celtics had an adequate bench to make a solid run at an NBA title. In seasons past, the Celtics have had to survive their bench minutes, but have since seen their Bus 1 Boys thrive for Boston this season.

And among those bench players perhaps none have grown their game more than backup big man Luke Kornet. The Vanderbilt alum has gone from mostly a liability to a problem for opposing bench lineups — and Kornet can hold his own with the starters as well.

Speaking on a recent episode, the hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” and “Talkin’ Cs” podcasts took some time to talk about the bench and the Green Kornet in particular.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say! If you enjoy this pod, check out the “How Bout Them Celtics,” “First to the Floor,” and the many other New England sports podcasts available on the CLNS Media network.
