The LSU Tigers have suffered through a disappointing season, just one year removed from going 15-0 and winning a national championship.

On Saturday night in Gainesville, Florida, everything was perfect again for LSU — if only for a day.

The Tigers improved to 4-5 on the season after a 37-34 win over No. 6 Florida.

Freshman quarterback Max Johnson made his first career start for the Tigers and was outstanding. Johnson completed 21 of 36 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns. Johnson didn’t turn the ball over and also rushed for 52 yards.

The Tigers would go into halftime with a 24-17 lead, and, predictably, the Gators came back and took the lead. However, LSU didn’t fold; instead, it traded scores with the Gators until the game was tied at 34.

Johnson put LSU into position for the win, and Cade York kicked the longest field goal in school history and lifted the Tigers to a huge win.

Afterward, the Tigers had a little fun at Florida’s expense.
