The LSU Tigers have struggled on the field in 2020, posting a 3-4 record one year after winning the national championship.

LSU’s struggles on the field this fall hasn’t prevented the Tigers from success on the recruiting trail. According to 247Sports, the defending national champions currently have the No. 3 overall class, just three weeks before the early signing period.

On Tuesday, LSU suffered its first setback in the 2021 recruiting class when three-star defensive tackle Anthony Hundley announced on his Twitter he was decommitting from LSU.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound defensive tackle from the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, had been committed to the Tigers for over a year.

In his statement, Hundley thanked head coach Ed Orgeron and defensive line coach Bill Johnson and maintained he still plans to graduate early and enroll in January.

Hundley did not say if he is still considering LSU, but backing off his pledge this close to the early signing period would lead you to believe he is heading elsewhere.

Hundley was LSU’s only defensive tackle commitment. Expect Orgeron to aggressively pursue at least one defensive tackle before national signing day in February.
